Switch Axe is in such an amazing place in this expansion, holy shit man.

Popeyes is amazing when it's actually good but only one of the ~5 I've been to in the local area was good and it's not anymore after a management change. I've kinda just started assuming that one was an exception but seeing these poll results maybe my area is just bad. Chik-fil-a is always great though.

Maybe not "iconic" per se but one of the best songs in Okami (a game full of incredible songs) plays in a literal shack that you spend a very short amount of time in.

I've got a specific friend whose time I always try to beat but once I've got that I move on. Looking forward to returning to all of these after I finish the game and really optimizing and matching up against everyone else's times!

How does this game handle movesets? I didn't play the first Fire Emblem Warriors but I know there was a lot of cloning going on in that one. Do they break it down strictly by class in this one, or do the individual characters also have unique elements (maybe when in their "favorite" class?)

Extremely interested in Stray, excited for the Klonoa remasters and morbidly curious about how Digimon Strive turned out, but this month is mostly for cleaning the plate ahead of Xenoblade.

3 > 1 > 2 easy

2-4 is still my favorite case in the series but it doesn't make up for the rest of that game being all dead weight.

ToP Roshi literally undergoes training to become less of a perv and follows it up with a ridiculously cool winning streak, not sure how folks are saying that's not a change compared to the entirety of Z where he's nothing but perv jokes. I said yes for how great he is in OG Dragon Ball alone but Super 100% helps him a ton as far as more recent material goes.

Using the Gold Fever arcana makes it pretty free to get 70-100k gold if you use stone mask

My gold fevers are so inconsistent. Sometimes they go absolutely hog wild with 20k+ in a single burst and sometimes they don't even make it to four digits. Seems entirely dependent on what wave is active when I get the pick-up. Is there any trick to making them more consistent beyond playing on the maps that give you constant gold pick-ups to fuel it?

This appears to be the case with hitting bullets in general? Doesn't appear to have to be tied to the sword, I'm getting them consistently with guns.

Only done mission 1 so far but I'm going to be playing lots more this weekend. Can't wait to get to some of the levels show in the last stretch of the demo, the very last one there gave me Celeste levels of euphoria when I got the ace.

V is a bit weird but yeah, he does get to be pretty fun. Dante and Nero in this are legit peak gameplay in the genre.

Yeah I'm trying to get to that place and largely succeeding since I do legit think eps 5 and 6 are really solid, but I do maintain there's a difference between calling out actually sloppy writing and holding up a microscope to every new entry. I can see from some of the general discourse I'm now seeing out there that there's a *lot* of the latter happening to this series in particular.

Binged all of this over the last couple of days and uh, definitely can't relate to the people getting super excited and being moved to tears. Don't want to be cynical but by episode 4 I was feeling incredibly down on this. 5 and 6 were significant improvements but man, a lot of damage was already done by then.

Leia having this huge adventure with Obi-Wan and knowing exactly who he is by itself fucks canon so badly that this show probably straight up wouldn't have been approved in the pre-Disney era, which is really saying something if you know all the whacky shit that was. Like, it's kind of hilarious to me that they had all those lines at the end of the final showdown trying to smooth over minor inconsistencies when they just blasted this gaping plot hole straight through episode 4.

I also really wish more than one person had played this game since I'm also wondering how good the story is, lol

Blue Lions first is pretty rough since you beat an entire Fire Emblem game and end up feeling like you know absolutely jack shit about the world or any of the mysteries it presented you in the first half.

I can definitely say I wouldn't want to do the final level from the demo on a controller but if that's what you're used to then maybe it wouldn't be that bad? I exclusively use M+K for fps games so I personally feel like I have a lot less control with a controller.

Finally getting around to watching the trailers. Man, what happened to the voice acting in Crisis Core Reunion? FF7R has some of the best English voice acting in the genre and this uh, doesn't seem to be that.

Its definitely been talked about as a remake in all the behind the scenes buzz, but yeah I guess I need to see how much the design of the game is actually being changed. TLoU1 with 2's gameplay and design would be extraordinary but I'm not yet convinced that's what this actually is.

My original reaction to the remake buzz was that it seemed insane to make a remake of such a recent game but then I realized more time has passed since TLoU1 than between RE1 and REmake. That's wasn't a fun realization.

Coming to PC! Sony really isn't playing around.

This makes you LESS upset? I'm the complete opposite knowing that these games could be running at 60FPS if Nintendo would just make a modern console.

I can definitely see this, but the thing that upsets me most with this stuff is knowing I'm being kept from a better version of the game because of Company X's dumb decisions. Being able to play that better version of the game - even unofficially - quells the anger, even if they probably still deserve it.

Wow I didn't realize that's where we are with Switch emulation!

It's pretty wild! Full disclosure they still do struggle with shader caching, which is an eternal foe of emulation and even plenty of regular games these days. So whenever you see a new effect for the first time, you'll get a one-time hitch. The issue gets less major with every update though and aside from that it's a vastly superior experience to playing on actual hardware, which is totally wild for a console still actively being supported.

I would legitimately be upset about how archaic the Switch feels if it wasn't for games running at a locked (and often doubled) frame rate on emulators day one. These days my habit is to buy the game on Switch to support the devs and then play it through emulators so as to actually have good performance. Kirby and the Forgotten Land looks so good at 60 fps I have to imagine it was intended to be that way all along and they had to slash the frame rate in half when they realized how many chugs their cute cartoon game would somehow cause.

Miura is probably the most influential person ever to work in the dark fantasy genre so I guess it's time to see just how much that influence colored his team. Whatever this ends up being, it won't be his, but maybe it can still inherit his spirit. I can definitely imagine this is what he would have wanted, so I don't have any issues there. We've all got to keep struggling.

Weapon upgrades in FF7R would largely be fine if you could swap between weapons with a trigger. Having to go through the BWIIIING animation every time felt like an insane oversight.

Yeah I think this version of Ken look outstanding. I may be slightly biased considering how much he reminds me of Garou Terry, though.
